After more than 10 years in the classroom, Rineta started Reading Sprouts because she saw a growing, undeniable need for reading support.
Throughout my teaching career, I have seen children struggle with reading, not because they lack intelligence or potential, but because they need the right support, guidance, and encouragement.
I have personally witnessed children being told that they are “too old” not to know how to read, and I have seen the embarrassment and discouragement that can come from being made to feel inadequate because they are not reading at grade level.
Those moments have never sat well with me.
No child should ever feel ashamed of where they are in their learning journey.
Instead of belittling children for what they have not yet mastered, we should be asking ourselves how we can help them get there. Every child deserves someone who believes in them, meets them where they are, and helps them discover what they are capable of achieving.
That is the heart behind Reading Sprouts.
Reading Sprouts is more than a tutoring business; it is a passion project rooted in my belief that every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident, capable reader who genuinely enjoys reading.
I understand the power of literacy and how it extends far beyond the classroom. Strong reading skills help children develop critical thinking, make informed decisions, communicate effectively, solve problems, and navigate the challenges they will face throughout their lives.
Not simply to teach children how to read, but to help them believe that they can.
I want to nurture their confidence, celebrate their progress, and cultivate a genuine love for reading that grows with them long after our sessions end.
Every child can grow with the right care, patience, and support. Just as a seed needs the right environment to flourish, children need encouragement and individualized instruction to reach their full potential.
